LOGO & BRANDING
PRAMILA JAYAPAL FOR CONGRESS
We started out a virtual unknown in a 9-way primary against the presumed favorite, Councilman Joe McDermott, who shared the same last name as the retiring congressman. It was one of multiple challenges, including standing out from a field nine candidates and increasing our name ID.
We needed a logo that accurately reflected the movements our client helped form in her career as well as the movement she was building around her campaign. Pramila Jayapal is an organizer at heart, so we were inspired by the weathered bullhorn she had in her office from years of organizing movements and causes. At the same time we wanted to show the freshness of the campaign and capture the progressive movement of Seattle with a nod to the grassroots of the campaign.
Ultimately we won the primary with 42% of the vote, our next closest opponent had 21%. We went on to win the general 56-44%. Additionally, artists and supporters replicated the campaign logo in their own mediums at homes and businesses across the district.
