BACK TO SCHOOL ENROLLMENT

DC PUBLIC SCHOOLS

WASHINGTON, DC

CHALLENGE

To execute a Back to School phone program during the summer of 2014 and effectively reach and move parents to act and enroll their children in school for the beginning of the 2014-15 school year.

PROCESS

To increase enrollment in DC Public School (DCPS) and get DC parents more involved in the back to school process, Wildfire Contact provided DCPS with a multi-dimensional program through phones, mail, data, and canvassing services. This multi-dimensional program included three separate calling programs, successfully contacting over 7,900 parents. As a part of the canvassing efforts, literature was needed to hand out at the doors. Wildfire designed literature to give to parents about a new educational opportunity in their community, combining both stunning artwork and important information, tailored to the needs of the community for which the literature was serving. These efforts cumulated in a well-executed program that successfully fulfilled the wishes of DC Public Schools.

RESULT

Through the success of this program, thousands of children were enrolled to start at the beginning of the 2014 school year, resulting in a significant uptick in DCPS enrollment. Because of this success, Wildfire was hired again by DCPS to run an extensive canvassing program in Ward 5 of the District of Columbia. During this time, Wildfire knocked on over 25,000 doors, notifying parents of changes in their local schools and engaging DCPS with the local community.
